Learn how to view, download, delete, and organize your Focusly-generated content.
What Are Outputs?
Outputs are the AI-generated content you create using Focusly's modules:
- Notes summaries
- Question sets
- Practice quizzes
- Flashcard decks
- Exam questions
- Revision plans
- Language exercises
- Memorization aids
Viewing Your Outputs
Saved Outputs Sidebar
All your outputs are displayed in the Saved Outputs sidebar on the right side of your workspace.
What you'll see:
- List of folders (organized by subject or custom)
- Outputs within each folder
- Quick preview information
- Action buttons (view, download, delete)
Viewing an Output
- Navigate to the Saved Outputs sidebar
- Click on a folder to expand it
- Click on any output to open it
- View the full content
Output display includes:
- Module type (summary, questions, flashcards, etc.)
- Subject
- Label/title
- Date created
- Full content (formatted and readable)
Sorting and Filtering
Outputs can be organized by:
- Date created (newest first, oldest first)
- Module type (all summaries, all flashcards, etc.)
- Subject/folder (Mathematics, English, etc.)
- Label (alphabetically)
Downloading Outputs
Why Download?
- Offline access: Study without internet
- Backup: Keep local copies of important work
- Sharing: Send to classmates or teachers
- Printing: Create physical study materials
- Import: Use in other apps (Anki, Quizlet, etc.)
How to Download
Single Output
- Open the output you want to download
- Look for Download button (usually top-right)
- Click Download
- Choose format if multiple options available
- File saves to your device's Downloads folder
Multiple Outputs
- Select multiple outputs (if feature available)
- Click Download Selected
- Downloads as ZIP file or individual files
Download Formats
Different modules may offer different formats:
Notes Summaries:
- PDF (formatted for reading)
- TXT (plain text)
- Markdown (for note-taking apps)
Question Sets:
- PDF (with answer key)
- JSON (for importing to other systems)
- TXT (plain text questions)
Flashcards:
- CSV (for Anki, Quizlet)
- PDF (printable cards)
- JSON (structured data)
Revision Plans:
- PDF (formatted schedule)
- Calendar file (iCal, .ics)
- Excel/CSV (spreadsheet)
Language Practice:

Using Downloaded Files
PDFs:
- Open in any PDF reader
- Print for physical copies

CSV files (Flashcards):
- Import into Anki: File → Import → Select CSV
- Import into Quizlet: Create set → Import → Paste
- Open in Excel/Sheets for editing
TXT files:
- Open in any text editor
- Copy content as needed

JSON files:
- For developers or advanced users
- Import to custom applications
- Parse programmatically
Deleting Outputs
Why Delete?
- Free up space
- Remove outdated materials
- Declutter workspace
- Keep only relevant content
How to Delete
Single Output
- Open or select the output
- Click Delete button or trash icon
- Confirm deletion
- Output is permanently removed
Multiple Outputs
- Select multiple outputs (if available)
- Click Delete Selected
- Confirm deletion
- All selected outputs removed
Entire Folder
- Select the folder
- Click folder options (⋮ or gear icon)
- Select Delete Folder
- Choose what to do with contents:
- Delete all contents
- Move contents to another folder
- Confirm deletion
Important Notes
Deletion is permanent:
- ❌ Cannot be undone
- ❌ No trash/recycle bin
- ❌ No recovery option
Best practice:
- ✅ Download important outputs before deleting
- ✅ Double-check before confirming
- ✅ Review folder contents before deleting folders
Editing Outputs
Current Functionality
Focusly outputs are read-only within the app:
- Cannot edit generated content directly
- Cannot modify saved outputs
Workarounds for Editing
Method 1: Download and Edit Locally
- Download output as TXT or PDF
- Open in text editor or word processor
- Make your edits
- Save locally
Method 2: Regenerate with Modifications
- Note what you want to change
- Create new output with updated parameters
- Delete old output if no longer needed
Method 3: Copy and Paste
- Open output in Focusly
- Select and copy text
- Paste into your preferred editor
- Make edits there

If Focusly has search functionality:
- Look for search bar in Saved Outputs

- Use browser's Find function (Ctrl+F / Cmd+F) when output is open

- Module type: Which module created it
- Subject: Academic subject
- Label: Custom name/title
- Date created: When it was generated
- Folder: Where it's stored
- Input used: Original content (may be stored)

Troubleshooting
Output won't open
- Refresh the page
- Check internet connection
