Why Email Verification is Required
Email verification ensures:
- Security: Confirms you own the email address
- Account recovery: Enables password reset functionality
- Communication: Allows important updates and notifications
- Access control: Prevents spam and unauthorized access
Verification Status
Unverified Accounts
If your email is not verified, you will:
- ❌ Be unable to access learning modules
- ❌ Cannot create or save outputs
- ❌ Cannot use any AI features
- ✅ Can still log in and view your dashboard
You'll see a banner prompting you to verify your email.
Verified Accounts
Once verified, you can:
- ✅ Access all 8 learning modules
- ✅ Create and save unlimited outputs
- ✅ Organize work in folders
- ✅ Download and export content
- ✅ Use all features without restrictions
How to Verify Your Email
Initial Verification (New Accounts)
Step 1: Sign Up
- Create your account at focusly.one
- Enter your email and create a password
- Click Create Account
Step 2: Check Your Email
- Check the inbox of the email address you provided
- Look for an email from
noreply@focusly.one - Subject line: "Verify your Focusly account"
- Check spam/junk folder if not in inbox
Step 3: Click Verification Link
- Open the verification email
- Click the Verify Email button or link
- You'll be redirected to Focusly
- See confirmation message: "Email verified successfully!"
Step 4: Start Using Focusly
- You'll receive a welcome email
- All features are now unlocked
- Begin using any module
Verification Token Expiry
Verification links are valid for 24 hours only.
If your link has expired:
- Log in to your Focusly account
- You'll see a notification about the expired token
- Click Resend Verification Email
- Check your email for a new verification link
- Click the new link (valid for another 24 hours)
Resending Verification Email
When You Need to Resend
- Original email not received
- Verification link expired (24 hours)
- Accidentally deleted the email
- Email went to spam and was deleted
How to Resend
Method 1: From Dashboard
- Log in to your account
- If unverified, you'll see a banner
- Click Resend Verification Email
- Check your email inbox
Method 2: From Login Page
- Try to access any module while unverified
- You'll be prompted to verify
- Click Resend Verification Email
- Check your email inbox
Note: You can only request a new verification email once every 15 minutes to prevent spam.
Troubleshooting
I didn't receive the verification email
Check Spam/Junk Folder
- Email providers often filter automated emails
- Look in "Spam", "Junk", or "Promotions" folders
- Mark as "Not Spam" to ensure future emails arrive in inbox
Check Email Address
- Log in to your account
- Verify the email address shown is correct
- If wrong, you may need to create a new account
Wait a Few Minutes
- Email delivery can take 1-5 minutes
- Server delays may occur during high traffic
Check Email Provider Restrictions
Some institutions or organizations block automated emails:
- School/university email addresses may have filters
- Corporate email may block external senders
- Try using a personal email (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
The verification link doesn't work
Link Expired
- Links expire after 24 hours
- Request a new verification email
- Click the new link promptly
URL Broken Across Lines
- Email clients sometimes break long URLs
- Copy the entire URL from the email
- Paste into browser manually
- Ensure no line breaks or spaces
Browser Issues
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
- Try incognito/private mode
Already Verified
- You may have already verified
- Try logging in normally
- Check if modules are accessible
I verified but still can't access modules
Log Out and Back In
- Log out of your account
- Close the browser
- Log back in
- Try accessing modules again
Clear Browser Cache
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies
- Refresh the page
- Log in again
Check Verification Status
- Look for confirmation message after clicking link
- Check if you received a welcome email
- No verification banner should appear on dashboard

Email Not Arriving - Alternative Solutions
Try a Different Email Provider
If your email provider is blocking Focusly emails:
- Create account with different email:
- Gmail (gmail.com)
- Outlook (outlook.com)
- ProtonMail (protonmail.com)
- Other personal email providers
Add to Safe Sender List
To prevent filtering:
- Add
noreply@focusly.oneto contacts - Mark Focusly emails as "Not Spam"
- Check provider's safe sender settings
Check Email Quotas
- Some email accounts have storage limits
- Full inbox may reject new emails
- Clean up inbox and try resending

Protecting Your Account
- Use the official link: Only click verification links that go to
focusly.one - Check sender: Verify email is from
noreply@focusly.one - Don't share links: Verification links are unique to your account
- Act quickly: Don't leave verification links unused for days
Suspicious Emails
If you receive a verification email you didn't request:
- Don't click the link
- Someone may have tried to create an account with your email
- Change your password if you have an account
- Ignore and delete the email
Changing Your Email Address
Important: Focusly currently doesn't support changing email addresses after account creation.
If you need to use a different email:
- Create a new account with the desired email
- Verify the new account
- Your old account will remain but you'll use the new one
Note: You cannot transfer outputs between accounts currently.
What Happens If I Don't Verify?
Immediate Effects
- Cannot access any learning modules
- Cannot create or save outputs
- Limited to viewing dashboard only
No Account Deletion
- Unverified accounts are not automatically deleted
- You can verify at any time
- No time limit on verification (but links expire every 24 hours)
Functionality Restored Immediately
- As soon as you verify, all features unlock
- No waiting period
- Instant access to all modules
After Verification
Welcome Email
You'll receive a welcome email that includes:
- Confirmation of successful verification
- Quick start tips
- Links to documentation
- Feature overview
Full Access
You now have:
- Access to all 8 learning modules
