Security Best Practices
Creating a Strong Password
DO:
- ✅ Use a password manager
- ✅ Create unique passwords for each service
- ✅ Use 12+ characters
- ✅ Mix character types (upper, lower, numbers, symbols)
- ✅ Use passphrases (e.g., "Correct-Horse-Battery-Staple")
DON'T:
- ❌ Use common words or patterns
- ❌ Reuse passwords from other sites
- ❌ Share your password with anyone
- ❌ Use personal information (birthdate, name, etc.)
- ❌ Use sequential numbers or letters
Protecting Your Account
- Enable password manager: Generate and store strong passwords
- Never share: Keep your password private
- Update regularly: Change password if compromised
- Watch for phishing: Only reset via focusly.one

Recognizing Phishing Attempts
Legitimate password reset emails:
- ✅ Come from

Suspicious emails:

If You Forgot Your Email Address
Try common emails:
- Personal email accounts (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
- School/university email
- Work email
- Old email addresses
Check saved passwords:
- Browser password manager
- Password manager apps
- May show associated email
Create new account:
- If unable to find original email
- Use current primary email
- Start fresh
Multiple Failed Reset Attempts
Reset Request Limits
To prevent abuse:
- No strict limit on reset requests
- Reasonable use expected
- Excessive requests may be flagged
If Reset Keeps Failing
- Verify email address: Triple-check spelling
- Wait 5 minutes: Allow time for email delivery
- Try different browser: Rule out browser issues
