Quick Start Guide
Get up and running with Focusly in just a few minutes.
Your First Login
After creating and verifying your account, log in to access your workspace:
- Visit focusly.one
- Click Sign In
- Enter your email and password
- Click Log In
You'll be taken to your Workspace, where all the magic happens.
Understanding the Workspace
Your workspace is organized into three main areas:
1. Module Selector (Left Sidebar)
Browse and select from 8 AI-powered learning modules:
- Notes Summariser
- Question Generator
- Practice Mode
- Flashcard Maker
- Exam Creator
- Revision Planner
- Language Practice
- Memorisation Studio
- NESA Software Exam (for NSW HSC Software Engineering students)
2. Module Interface (Center)
This is where you'll interact with your selected module:
- Input your content or requirements
- Configure settings and options
- Generate AI-powered outputs
- View and interact with results
3. Saved Outputs (Right Sidebar)
Access all your previously generated content:
- Organized by folders (subject-based or custom)
- Quick access to download or delete outputs
- Search and filter capabilities
Your First Module
Let's try the Notes Summariser to get familiar with how Focusly works:
Step 1: Select the Module
- Click Notes Summariser in the left sidebar
- The module interface will load in the center
Step 2: Choose Your Subject
- Select a subject from the dropdown (e.g., "Mathematics", "History", "Science")
- Or choose "Other" and type a custom subject
Step 3: Upload Your Notes
You can provide notes in several ways:
- Upload PDF: Click to select a PDF file
- Upload Text File: Upload .txt, .md, or .json files
- Paste Text: Directly paste your notes into the text area
Step 4: Customize (Optional)
- Label: Give your summary a custom name (e.g., "Chapter 3 - Cell Biology")
- Focus: Specify what to focus on (e.g., "key terms and definitions")
Step 5: Generate Summary
- Click Generate Summary
- Wait while the AI processes your notes (usually 5-15 seconds)
- Your summary will appear below the form
Step 6: Review and Save
- Read through your AI-generated summary
- The output is automatically saved to your account
- Find it in the "Saved Outputs" sidebar under your selected subject folder
Working with Outputs
All your generated content is automatically saved and organized:
Viewing Saved Outputs
- Look at the right sidebar
- Browse by subject folders
- Click any output to view it again
Downloading Outputs
- Find the output you want to download
- Click the Download button (if available)
- The output will be saved to your device
Organizing with Folders
- Outputs are automatically organized by subject
- Create custom folders for specific projects or topics
- Move outputs between folders as needed
